The mission of Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is to improve the health of the communities that it serves. Cambridge Health Alliance is seeking a skilled Manager of Outreach and Programs to join the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program within the Department of Community Health. The Manager will be an integral member of this team that ensures collaborative outreach programming and improves access to evidence-based sexual health programming to promote health equity efforts in the area of sexual and reproductive health . This position will collaborate with members of CHI and community partners in the service area to support current programs and initiatives that uphold and honor CHA’s mission. 


Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Sexual and Reproductive Health, the Manager oversees development of new and ongoing implementation of programming that fosters positive youth and adult development and that strengthens CHA’s ability to deliver programming in the community. The ideal candidate will be an individual with an interest and passion for sexual and reproductive health, program planning, positive youth development, and health promotion/education. This position is for someone who wants to support the Cambridge Health Alliance’s (CHA) mission to improve the health of the community and reduce disparities. This position will manage a team of community health educators in Sexual and Reproductive Health and collaborate with members of the Department of Community Health to implement and support activities that focus on sexual and reproductive health education, and health promotion/prevention among youth, parents, and adults. Knowledge and previous experience working in health education/promotion and community programming that support health is required; experience with sexual and reproductive health is preferred. Prior experience working in CHA’s primary service area is preferred. Candidates must be willing to travel to various CHA sites regularly; sites include Cambridge, Chelsea, Somerville, Everett, Malden, Revere, Winthrop. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, with additional experience in similar types of programs. Master’s Degree preferred. Experience can be considered in lieu of education. 
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in engaging with community programming (preferably in sexual and reproductive health or family planning programming), including at least 2 years supervising full time staff
  • Cover letter required 
  • Demonstrated effective supervision, staff management, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills, proactive, creative problem solving and ethical management;
  • Experience working with diverse populations, and/or with individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds preferred; 
  • Demonstrated skills in youth development, including creating safe spaces and familiarity of youth development principles and models.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of stakeholders including community and faith based organizations, governmental agencies, and school administrative personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to reach out to and engage diverse communities in programming
  • Knowledge of and applied experience with best practices in service or project-based learning
  • Ability to use data to drive programmatic decisions including instructional design
  • Experience working with MA Department of Public Health, Title X, Adolescent Sexuality Education or other grant-funded programs.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to developing collegial and professional relationships with various stakeholder groups
  • Excellent writing skills that include the ability to develop curriculum, protocols, and grant reporting. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications. Experience or willingness to learn advanced Excel skills. 
  • Proficient in English, both written and oral communication. Multilingual candidates who speak either Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole strongly desired.
